Africa Food for Thought
Africa Food for Thought is a non-profit organization that aims to provide nutrition to school children in order to promote concentration and learning.
At present AFFT is only operational within the West Rand area of Gauteng, South Africa; but hopes to expand into other areas. Although school feeding programmes are its main activity, support is also given to numerous self-help projects and creches that all benefit underpriviledged children.
AFFT believes that there should be community involvement in order to make projects sustainable. With this in mind the schools and communities are encouraged to own and run their projects.
AFFT introduced Flying Children to the child care facilities currently being worked with, and the two organisations continue to work in tandem.
